Grandma Baer’s Sand Tarts

Ingredients:

1 C Butter
1 C Sugar
1 Egg
2 C Flour
1/2 t Vanilla
1/4 t Salt (scant amount)

These are best if sliced as thin as possible. We used to create a long roll about 2 1/2 inches in diameter, place in the freezer for 1/2 hour or so until they were hard enough that we could slice them thin on a commercial slicer.

Keep an eye on the baking sheet as they won’t take long.
